Exercise 1 : Web Analysis
Website 1 - Zach King

This is a website is made to be simple with minimalistic elements as its main purpose is to act as an influencer's introduction page. In the homepage, there is an upper tab which includes relevant links for this influencer. The font chosen for the main contents of the website is clean and legible, which is important for any user who wants to navigate it without having trouble reading it.

When you scroll down the homepage, you will find the links to the various social medias for this influencer. There is a good chance to take notice of them since the social media logos are quite big and visible.

Below are some paragraphs describing this influencer which includes his follower count and appearances on popular talk shows and and brands. The 'highlights' tab on the side provides links to show these feats.

In the contact page, there is a contact form for anyone who has any enquiries about joining the team. Beside it is the influencer marketing his merch with a button that links the user to his online shop.

The entire website was very easy to use and there were no problems loading each page due to how minimalistic it is.

Website 2 - Good Is The New Cool

This website took a while to load due to some elements used to create it. It looks very minimalistic with a contrast between black and orange as its signature colour. In the homepage, there is a large image of an article and clicking the headline. which becomes underlined when you mouse hovers on it, it takes you to a different page for more details.

When you hit the bottom of the page, there is an orange tab which provides links to the about, contact, and socials page. At the very bottom is a large animated text that cycles between GOOD and COOL, where only the first and last letters change by animations.

In the about page, it leads you to another orange tab, which now includes the details and goals of this website. The font used in the first 2 paragraphs are bold and legible, but the font in the bottom paragraph is completely different. I think the size of it is unnecessarily big since it is not consistent with the first 2 paragraphs.

In the contact page, there is not a lot of options to contact them from, and below that are frequently asked questions which, after clicking it, drops down a little box with the details.

Website 3 - National Geographic : Into The Amazon

Before the website fully loads, there is a loading screen that takes a long time if the device is running slow or if there is poor internet connection. The response time and performance will be much slower on mobile devices due to how large the website is.

Once loaded in, there is a brief description about this website. The font and colour used in the text is pleasing to the eyes especially on the dark background.

As you scroll down, there will be a lot of unique visuals that are accompanied with immersive animations that make it seem like you are in the Amazon itself.

In some sections, you may encounter some article links that will take you to a different page. These links are shown in the form of a bright yellow shape so you will not miss it.

On the top right corner of the website, there is a map button which takes you to a map where you can drag to move to look at the surroundings. Beside is an open tab for the icons on the map which provides a link to the gallery when clicking on them. Clicking the map button again will take you back to the homepage.

Website 4 - Cyd Stumple : Creative Developer

This website is for a creative developer showcasing her portfolio featuring her works. The website itself has a very magical feel with the pastel colours and the font chosen is very fitting with the overall vibe of the website. You are immediately met with a large typography work on the page and it has small elements flying around it. Despite this, the website did not lag at all, and runs smoothly on any device.

Later you will be met with a flip-card style showcase of this person's works on the same page.

Clicking one of those works will lead to a different page showing more details about that work, including some videos that are put on loop showing how her website functions. The presentation of this is consistent with the style of the website.

At the bottom of the homepage, it shows the working days, availability date and social media links. There is also an email link so you don't have to go to the contact tab for enquiries.

In the about page, while the colour has changed, the layout remains consistent. An image of this person is shown while the details about her are written in neat and comprehensible paragraphs.

Website 5 - Burberry X Minecraft

This is a website showcasing a collaboration between Burberry and Minecraft. When the page loads you are met with an official image of the collaboration that takes up most of the top of the page.

Below is some information about this collab and in between the paragraphs, there is a small rotating Minecraft avatar that cycles between different characters as it spins. The font used in this is similar to the Minecraft font so it is very fitting.

Further below is more details featuring images of the collab and eye-catching headings. There will also be a link that leads directly to the Burberry website.

These are the goals and achievements of this collab and the layout of the contents remain consistent. There are images and videos provided to accompany these descriptions, which are bizarre and surreal, which fits into the theme.

At the bottom of the page, it shows the results from the collaboration, with an animated Minecraft air balloon with the Burberry pattern to end it.

Overall, this website is very neat and delivers what it was meant to deliver. The layout of the contents make it easy for the user to go through. The performance on mobile devices is excellent as well.
