Exercises
Exercise 1 - Quantifiable Information
I have a packet of colorful cotton balls that I could use for this exercise. There were too many so I picked out a usable amount that still has some variety in colors.

Then I arranged them by color in a swirly pattern and counted how many of each colored cotton ball there is.

Exercise 2 - L.A.T.C.H Infographic Poster
For this exercise, we needed to organise a group of information that combines and utilised at least 4 of the L.A.T.C.H principles. I have decided to choose sharks as my topic and listed out the L.A.T.C.H principles I will be using, which will be;

L (Location) = The Mediterranean Sea
A (Alphabet) = Shark Names by Alphabet
C (Category) = Species of Sharks
H (Hierarchy) = Apex Predators, Mid-Level Predators, Bottom Dwellers

I started looking for visual references, especially those that relates to the water.

Fig. 4, Idea sketches

After getting an idea for my infographic, I started working on the digitisation. During this process it was difficult finding images of the sharks as they were either low quality or too dark, as they are taken underwater. I downloaded some images to edit in Photoshop before transferring them to Illustrator where it will be easier to use these images.

I showed this to Mr Shamsul for feedback and he said that the light-coloured boxes were not needed as I already had a background. The title also needed to be changed as it was simple and uninteresting.

I played around with some of the effects to make the shark images look like they fit into the poster, and I chose to go for the sketchy kind of look. I also made some changes to the background to make it look less saturated and so that the text will be easier to read instead.

I played around with some title names until I got a title that I found to be interesting. I added a small boat on top of the waves to finish off my poster.
