Instructions
Exercise 1: Sound Dubbing
We were given a muted clip from the movie 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' and we are required to sync our self-recorded dialogue and sound effects to make the sound design of this clip our own. I had to look at the original scene to understand what was going on before I went to look for suitable sound effects online. I used sound effects from the website freesound.org. I inserted the clip and the sound effects I found into Adobe Premiere Pro and played with the settings until I got the audio I want.
I followed the breakdown spreadsheet that we were required to do to sync up the sound effects with certain parts of the clip. I made it sync up as close as possible, enough that there's no obvious delay between the audio and the clip.
I inserted my recorded lines that were recorded with my phone using an earphone microphone for better audio. I used the pitch shifter to my advantage to change my voice to sound higher or deeper for the appropriate character I was dubbing over. I also added some ambience audio that would sound appropriate for this clip, and adjusted the settings so that it would not sound louder than the dialogue.

Final Exercise 1
For this exercise we were required to shape our audio with an equalizer in Adobe Audition. We needed to shape our audio into sounding like we are in a phone call, in a closet, in a bathroom, in a cave, and sound like alien or orc.

Reflection
This was an interesting project as we were given the opportunity to play around with the sound using our own recorded audio. It was interesting to learn how to use Adobe Audition since it looked very complicated at first glance, but you will know how to use it after some practice. These tasks were quite easy to do if you know how you want your audio to sound like. The tutorials given to us were definitely helpful and because of those I was able to get these done quickly.
