Reflection

Experience

I think that typography in general can be a very fun module to take especially for those who are very interested in the art. It takes a lot of time a patience to perfect every single little detail that can barely be seen by the naked eye. It's all about perfection when it comes to creating ltypefaces, and that's one thing I find challenging about this module.

Because you want to strive for perfection, your mind needs to be filled with endless thoughts and ideas to be able to create that perfect outcome. With enough determination and patience you can definitely accomplish your goal in this module. However for me personally I have trouble doing that in general so even I have trouble trying to keep up with this module but I have tried my best regardless to keep up with the piling workload.

The overall experience was definitely enjoyable as we are free to do as we wish with our typefaces with some necessary feedback from Mr Vinod. I got to learn some things during these few months.

Observations

Typography takes a lot of time and patience and it will be hard if you cannot manage your schedule well. These are very tiring tasks and it makes sense why this module would is required to be 14 weeks long. There's a lot of research that needs to be done to understand how to do those tasks, especially when it comes to finding references because those will help in a lot of projects.

Findings

Typography in general is more for those who are more passionate about learning this form of artistic expression and you need to be incredibly motivated to be able to get things done. It does just look like a couple of letters but there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes in creating these letters that goes underappreciated. Personally for me, I have come to find out that this module was not exactly suited for me because I lose motivation easily. I hope to be able to fix this problem one day.
