Week 1 - 4 SUNG J XIN/ 0370139/ Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Creative Media GCD 61704 Character Design Task 1 - Personification / Big Idea Instructions (MIB) Process While deciding on a franchise that I wanted to base my character around, I thought of popular games such as Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail. However, I did not end up choosing those games as the character designs are known to be complicated. Then I thought of Danganronpa, specifically the first game, where the character designs are much simpler and yet unique, with different fashion styles that are popular in Japan.  Before attending this module, I had always been interested in Ouji fashion, which is a Japanese aesthetic inspired by aristocratic Victorian clothing worn by men. I liked how boyish and fancy it looked so I decided to incorporate that fashion into my character.   I started sketching different outfit variations based on this fashion style. Week 1 - 14 SUNG J XIN/ 0370139/ Bachelor of Design (Hons) in Creative Media DST 60404 Anatomy and Character Structure Instructions (MIB) Exercise 1 - Character Design Concept Our first exercise is to create an original character that will be sculpted and used in the later projects. My first idea was to create a chibi-like character with demonic motifs such as horns. I decided to go look for references and inspiration from different sources. I picked out some features that I liked such as the blacked out arms and long tail and decided to brainstorm some designs using the chibi model. I decided to draw up a similar design but with a normal female character body type. This would allow me to to more with the anatomy. I made some changes to parts of the outfit and ended up with a design that I will be using later.
